FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQs
At Veterinary Financial Summit, we get a ton of interesting questions. Below are some common FAQs that might help answer any questions you may have.
Who leads Veterinary Financial Summit?
Meredith Jones and Willie Bidot are practicing veterinarians and the leaders of Veterinary Financial Summit. They are dedicated to educating colleagues on financial topics and fostering a safe community for discussion.
The online community is exclusively for veterinary professionals. Through our video interviews and Summit, we partner with financial experts who share the common goal of sharing trustworthy, practical information.
What is included with the conference registration?
Registration for the Summit includes all presentations and workshops, annual membership to the online community, and a few surprises.
How did the idea for the Summit come about?
Veterinary Financial Summit co-founders Meredith Jones and Phil Zeltzman met virtually after realizing their common passion for personal finance. Then they met in person at the Uncharted Veterinary Conference, launched by the amazing Dr. Andy Roark. They kept challenging each other to answer the question: “How can we help more colleagues?”
One of the answers they came up with is to build a community of like-minded colleagues and to launch Veterinary Financial Summit, the first-ever financial conference dedicated to veterinary professionals.
Experience shows that there is a lot of confusion and misinformation “out there.” Our goal is to gather financial experts to discuss these topics, solve problems and make a difference in our community in a safe and relaxed environment.
Who can join?
What if I can’t attend the Summit live? Are you recording it?
Yes, the Summit will be recorded, so you will be able to watch sessions later at your own pace. You will have a whole year to watch them. Live attendees will also be able to rewatch sessions or watch sessions they couldn’t attend.
How is the Summit different from a webinar?
The Vet Financial Summit is 100% live, giving attendees a chance to interact not only with one another but speakers and panelists as well.
Many virtual conferences these days are pre-recorded and/or don’t allow live participation. Our Summit is live because we believe our colleagues will learn more by being able to interact with peers and speakers.
How are you different from anybody else?
Nobody else has a conference solely dedicated to personal finance and practice finance for vet professionals. We created it specifically to respond to our colleagues’ need to gain a better understanding of financial topics.
I can’t attend the conference. Can I still join the online community?
Yes! Our online community is a place for discussion, connection, and support. You will have access to our private Facebook group and archived videos from the Summit. You may join the community whenever you’d like.
Can I attend if I don’t live in the U.S.?
Absolutely. One of the huge benefits of an online Summit is that anybody can participate from anywhere in the world without the cost of travel and a hotel stay. In previous years we’ve had attendees from Canada, the UK, Brazil, Malaysia, Romania, Hong Kong, South Africa, and Malta!
I represent a company interested in sponsoring the Veterinary Financial Summit. How do I get in touch?
We have many sponsorship opportunities for businesses that want to help make the Summit possible. Let us know who you are and what you do at leadership@vetfinancialsummit.com, and we will send you more information.
What’s the difference between the conference and the community?
The next virtual Veterinary Financial Summit will be held October 22 & 23, 2022. Attendees participate in interactive workshops and roundtables, attend talks on financial topics, and network with like-minded colleagues.
The online community is a year-round membership that includes a discussion group with weekly and monthly challenges to keep you motivated. This group is a safe and confidential space for veterinary professionals to ask for advice regarding finance and career. Community members also have access to our Video Vault, where they can watch past interviews and Q&As.
Summit attendees receive a Community membership with registration.
What is the Veterinary Financial Mastermind?
Summit attendees have the opportunity to upgrade their tickets to join one of two small focus groups led by a Vet Financial Summit leader. Together, they will work to set and achieve goals, problem-solve, and hold one another accountable over the course of the year.
Mastermind spots are limited to keep the groups at an optimal number for productivity. To learn more about this unique opportunity, check out our blog about it, which goes into great detail about how these groups are used and what the benefits are.
